A fiber coherence index for quality control of B-table orientation in diffusion MRI scans

This study evaluates a coherence-based method that selects the gradient-table configuration producing the most consistent neighboring fiber orientations. It succeeds across thousands of human scans and a smaller animal dataset; the failures are associated with substantial motion or signal dropout.
